Where an organisation has an employee with specific responsibilities for safety we can support them in a number of different ways including their
Please do be assured if you don’t need our services we’ll not sell you something you don’t need, we’ll point you in the right direction but will be here to support you should you need help in the future.
Health and Social Care
Our tailored consultancy considers fully the needs not only of organisations and their staff teams but also those of the clients accessing the services provided.
Often health and safety consultancy services lead to the development of bespoke training solutions designed not only to meet statutory duties but also other the requirements of other bodies such as the Care Quality Commission.
Our current clients in this area include a number of private clinics and hospitals, rehabilitation services, domiciliary care providers, nursing agencies and organisations providing supported living.
Building Trades and Construction
Today’s construction and building trades are still the most hazardous and are becoming ever more competitive with clients looking to select only those contractors and trades who demonstrate, not only they have the resources and skills to complete and do a good job, but can do so safely and without risks to health.
Under the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2007 all clients who undertake new build or refurbishment works have a legal duty to ensure contractors are competent so that during the planning stages and during the actual works and after project completion, risks to peoples safety or health are either eliminated or adequately reduced.
In today’s world of instant communication, an incident on site can be instantly photographed and uploaded for global distribution, so clients are naturally wary that their reputations, corporate image and stakeholder confidence is maintained and not jeopardized by the actions of a contractor company.
For the construction trades compliance with health and safety legislation can seem overly bureaucratic and time consuming, so this is where Chris can help by explaining what is required in plain language and with the minimum of fuss. Unfortunately, some paperwork is necessary but here at Acorn we not only help develop or provide all the required documentation you may need, but talk you through how and when to complete it.
A growing part of Chris’s work involves helping construction trade companies answer health and safety compliance questionnaires and in making applications to CHAS for accreditation or registering to the likes of Construction Line, or Safe Contractor etc. Compliance however may mean taking on board some new information, guidance or training, e.g first aid training, asbestos awareness, ladder safety etc, for which we run regular courses.
For construction trades wishing to achieve compliance, contact Chris for all aspects of health and safety management or training, as we work alongside you so you always understand what is legally required, the means to achieve it and given a realistic idea of costs and charges.
